Vogue Magazine’s Black Covergirls

vogue black cover girlsEvery model wants to grace the cover of Vogue magazine. You have arrived when you land that cover. For black models, it’s been a rough road in particular.

In 1966, Donyale Luna became the first Vogue covergirl when the British version of the mag tapped her for the cover. Beverly Johnson was the first black woman for the cover of US Vogue.

Since then, there have been more including Chanel Iman, Naomi Cambpell, Tyra Banks and Liya Kebede.
