News One’s Roland Martin will be a keynote speaker at the National Society of Black Engineers Professional Development Conference (PDC).

The annual event will take place on September 29 to October 2, 2016, at The Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C. More than 500 engineers, graduate engineering students, senior undergraduate engineering students, and business professionals will gather at one of NSBE’s major events.

The theme of this year’s PDC is “Elevating Our Culture, Career, and Community.” The focus is to empower the over 6,000 NSBE members to flourish technically, meet with those in key leadership positions, provide career advancement, and to encourage the next generation of black engineers.

The event’s agenda includes workshops with executives across technology, business, engineering, and science companies and organizations. The workshops will instruct on leadership development, professional development, personal development, early career advancement, and technical growth.

Participants will also have the chance to network with other professionals, corporate representatives, and executives to exchange success stories as well as discuss career challenges and specific technical subjects of interest, with conference attendees and the community.

Concurrent to the 2016 PDC, the NSBE Energy Special Interest Group (SIG) and the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) will host an Energy Summit, which will address trends and technology of the power generation, power delivery, energy efficiency, and oil and natural gas industries.
