Rick C. Wade to Help Small Businesses Expand Into the Global Marketplace with Teleconference, Supply Chain Tips

As part of National Small Business Week, Rick C. Wade will host a free teleconference for small business owners to discuss ways in which they can be part of the global supply chain on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 7:00PM ET.

Recently, Wade spoke at Atlanta Connect on the state of U.S. supply chains and gaining access to supply chain opportunities. As an early American Supplier Initiative event, the focus was on helping to increase government and commercial supply chain opportunities for small businesses to ensure that more small businesses have the tools and resources they need to be competitive.

In his speech, Wade opened a dialog with small business owners on how to access domestic and international supply chain opportunities and shared the following tips:

  • Contact major companies and even governments at all levels and understand the make-up of their products and services. Then, figure out what components and resources you can provide to help them efficiently manufacture and get their products/services to the market.
  • Develop teaming and partnership arrangements with other small and mid-size companies so as to leverage additional capital and be more competitive.
  • Recognize that the global supply chain is rich with opportunities as 95% of the world’s consumers live outside America’s borders. Establish close relationships with trade agencies such as the United States Department of Commerce and Export-Import Bank.
  • If small and minority-owned firms want to stay viable in an increasingly connected global economy, they must fight for a seat at the foreign investment table and look to China and other countries as potential sources for funding and financing.

Wade’s teleconference will continue his dialog and further assist small business owners across the country.
