Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest pork producer and processor, is dropping former TV chef Paula Deen as a spokeswoman.
The announcement today only a few days after the Food Network said it would not renew Deen’s contract because she admitted using racial slurs during a deposition in a discrimination lawsuit.
In a statement, Smithfield Foods, which is based in Smithfield, Virginia said it “condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind.â€
