BLACK ENTERPRISE IS EXCITED TO INVITE YOU TO OUR 6TH ANNUAL BE SMART (VIRTUAL) HACKATHON, HOSTED BY AMERICAN AIRLINES (OCT. 9–10).
This year’s hackathon will be entirely virtual and live-streamed online. We’re calling for ALL current students (freshman–senior) currently enrolled at an accredited HBCU to sign-up, form a team (max team size of 5), and prepare to compete for tons of awesome prizes from American Airlines and other leading technology partners!
Tech Workshops:
Beginning on Sept. 21, there will be several virtual workshops where you will learn how to use the latest technologies from Microsoft, IBM, HP, and many others. You’ll learn nearly everything you need to know to get ready for the competition.
Sample workshop topics:
- AI/ML
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Image Recognition
- Data Analytics
- Mobile development
- Virtual Machine/Cloud
Mentorships
American Airlines’ technical staff will mentor each team during the 24-hour hackathon. The mentor will help remove any roadblocks and give advice to the team on preparing and giving their presentation to the judges.
So, whether you’re new to coding, a skilled developer, or you like to design, this virtual hack is a great opportunity to:
- Have fun and build your network,
- Learn technologies to add to your résumé and engage in career preparation,
- Get fast-tracked into internship or full-time job opportunities at American Airlines and its tech partners.
Invite your friends!
Hurry and RSVP before it’s too late! Once registered, forward this invitation to four of your fellow developers/designers (max team size of 5) to help make your school stand out as a top competitor at this year’s hackathon
