The mystery surrounding Google glasses is finally starting to dissipate. California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom wore the high-tech specs on his Current TV show. Computerworld is reporting that Google has pushed back the shipping date. A recent email sent to the tech news and IT outlet from Google reveals that Glass won’t ship until 2014. At the Google I/O developer conference in May, both an internal source and one close to the company leaked that Glass would ship this year.

“We’re always adjusting and readjusting timelines, said a Google spokesman to Computerworld. “The most important thing that we do is focus on building a great product for users whenever that might be launched.”

While Glass’ form will likely not change, this added time gives Google the chance to perfect the wearable device’s user experience. Mashable staffers have been using Glass since May and report
