Cam Newton’s Ex-Girlfriend Kia Proctor Takes Him to Court Over $20K in Utility Bills

Former Patriots quarterback Cam Newton’s ex Kia Proctor is urging a judge to find the athlete in contempt of court for not paying over $20,000 in her utility bills.

Proctor, the mother of his four children, alleges that the pair had a temporary agreement where Newton would take care of utilities amid an ongoing custody battle for Camidas, Chosen Sebastian, Cashmere Saint Newton, and Sovereign-Dior Cambella. Proctor says the custody and child support case remains at a standstill due to documents required from Newton that he has not submitted, such as his current NFL contract, tax returns, and business income information. Per her forensic expert, Newton has not declared two new business ventures under his name.

She has demanded she take primary custody of the children and $15,000 in child support.

The former NFL baller currently pays her $14,268 per month in alimony, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online

Records from September 2020 to July 2022 reveal her cable bill to total $5,500 and $6,600 for internet. An additional $4,725 total her power charges and $4,532 for gas. All together, the charges run up to $21,357. That is not including the $2,000 in her legal fees she would like Newton to foot as well.

Proctor maintains that the star baller has ignored all her payment requests and has not paid a single utility bill following their agreement. He was allegedly ordered to pay power, water, and cable.

The couple were together for seven years before Newton had a child with Instagram model La Reina Shaw.

In June, Newton made an appearance on The Pivot Podcast where he spoke on making a “humanistic mistake” after getting Shaw pregnant while in a relationship with Proctor.

“Honestly, it was a situation, a personal situation for me,” said the former MVP quarterback. “My longtime girlfriend at the time [Proctor], you know, we had a family. And I made a mistake, I hurt her, and I jeopardized our family at that time and I had a child outside of our relationship.”

Don Lemon Calls Out Meghan Markle’s Privilege After She Admits to Never Experiencing ‘Full Black Treatment’ Before Prince Harry

Don Lemon Calls Out Meghan Markle’s Privilege After She Admits to Never Experiencing ‘Full Black Treatment’ Before Prince Harry

CNN host Don Lemon had some things to get off his chest after Meghan Markle recently revealed that she was never truly treated like a Black woman until dating her husband.

As previously reported, on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex spoke to Grammy Award-winner Mariah Carey on the second episode titled “The Duality of Diva” of her Spotify podcast, Archetypes.

In it they discussed how they navigated their lives as light-skinned biracial women; not exactly being treated like Black women, but not treated like fully white women either.

Lemon responded by calling out Markle’s privilege as they dissected what the podcast episode entailed.

“What she is coming from is a place of privilege where she did not have to deal with racism until she married a white man,” Lemon said during the Wednesday broadcast of CNN’s New Day. “And she’s got all this criticism and all this attention. And suddenly she understood or understands what it’s like to be part of a group of people, especially women in this country or in Europe, who are discriminated against.”

While he praised her for speaking on colorism, he also critiqued her ignorance to the “full Black treatment” in the country.

He added, “Actually, I think it’s an eye-opening podcast and I commend Meghan Markle for going there, even though it is a bit shocking that at 30-something years of age, she is just understanding what it’s like to be a Black woman in America. It’s a bit surprising to me.”

He continued, weighing in on the perception of her race, being both Black and white.

“She was a mixed woman. People didn’t really know how to react to her. They didn’t know if she was Black or white, but she didn’t get the full Black treatment because people weren’t sure that she was, you know, Black,” he added. “I think most African Americans probably looked at her and said, ‘Oh, I know that’s a Black woman,’ but I think the larger culture may not have realized that.”

Currently, Markle’s new podcast has dethroned Joe Rogan as No. 1 podcast on Spotify’s podcast rankings for the U.S.

Chemical Engineer Fired After Video Captures Drunk, Racist, Homophobic Meltdown While Kicked off Plane

Chemical Engineer Fired After Video Captures Drunk, Racist, Homophobic Meltdown While Kicked off Plane

A self-proclaimed chemical engineer has now been fired after a video of his racist and homophobic drunk rant went viral as he was getting kicked off an American Airlines flight, but not before announcing that he was intoxicated and worked at global biopharma company GlaxoSmithKline.

Identified as Zachary Easterly, the former GSK employee began ranting at flight attendants on a flight from Philadelphia to Dallas Tuesday night, reports TMZ.

The person recording the video, initially posted on Reddit under the “r/americanairlines” subreddit, explains that they “didn’t manage to start recording early enough to catch his copious usage of the N-word towards the flight attendants, but it was over and over, and very loud!”

According to the post, Easterly was initially booted off the plane for being “inappropriate towards the woman in the seat next to him.”

While stewardesses asked him to collect his belongings, he admitted he was racist because he owns a black bag.

“Obvious I’m a white male that take the black bag ‘cause I’m racist,” he’s heard exclaiming as there are audible groans of disgust from the passengers.

“You’re kicking me off the f—ing plane ‘cause I’m racist. I didn’t do anything. Yeah I’m a little intoxicated but I…” he trails off. “It’s a better bag than most of y’all can afford.”

A flight attendant then finally secures the man’s bag, which prompts him to begin going off on the passengers themselves as he gets nowhere asking why he’s getting kicked off and for a complimentary flight.

Defeated, he states, “I’ll get off the f—ing plane, with you liberal f—–s. I hope all you liberal f—–s f—ing crash the f—ing plane, you f—–s.”

He then proceeds to announce to the entire flight how he works for GlaxoSmithKline and boasts about being a chemical engineer to one of the top companies in the world.

Per a statement by GSK, he was terminated as soon as the video made it onto their radar. “We immediately conducted an investigation and as of Thursday, he is no longer employed at GSK. The person’s remarks were reprehensible and do not reflect our company culture.”

Florida Driver Kills 5 in Wrong Way Collision, Records Reveal He’s Had 9 Prior Traffic Violations

Disclosure: This post contains graphic details.

A Florida man was responsible for the deaths of five people on Saturday, when he drove on the opposite side of the Palmetto Expressway in Miami Gardens.

The Miami Herald reports that Florida State Troopers identified the man as 30-year-old Maiky Simeon, who has not had a valid driver’s license since 2014, for a ticket in which he drove up to speeds of 109 mph, according to online court records.

However, an email from the Florida Highway Patrol states otherwise, that Simeon indeed carried a valid license upon his arrest. Despite the mix-up, Simeon’s record indicates still owes a $1,070.38 traffic fine for violations to Collier County and Miami-Dade County. Online records reveal that Simeon has been subject to nine different traffic violations since 2013, consisting of speeding, running red lights, and failing to yield at an intersection. He was only declared guilty for four of those tickets.

Authorities say the Miami Gardens man drove east on the westbound lanes of State Road 826 at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, colliding head-on with a Honda sedan full of four women and one man by Northwest 57th Avenue. All of the Honda passengers died instantly. They were all between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, according to WSVN.

Simeon himself was airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

While the crash is under investigation, he is expected to face criminal charges. Police did not immediately confirm whether Simeon had drugs or alcohol in his system.

Friends and family of the deceased have arranged a makeshift memorial against a chain-link fence close to the entrance ramp where the crash occurred, just north of Miami Lakes.

The victims have been identified by loved ones as 18-year-old Briana Pacalagua, driving the Honda, Valeria Caceres, Daniela Marcano, 19, and Valeria Peña. Their families have set up a GoFundMe for each of the women to cover funeral expenses upon the abrupt tragedy.

So far, the identity of the young man is only known as Gian, per the GoFundMes.

Dennis Rodman Plans To Go to Russia To Advocate for Brittney Griner’s Freedom

On Saturday, former NBA great Dennis Rodman said that he has decided he will visit Russia in an attempt to bring back WNBA star Brittney Griner amid her 9-year prison sentence.

“I got permission to go to Russia to help that girl,” Rodman told NBC News while at a D.C. restaurant. “I’m trying to go this week.”

He went on to say that he knows Russian President Vladimir Putin “too well.”

While the Hall of Famer is trying his best to help, an official for the Biden administration warns that he may just do the opposite.

“It’s public information that the administration has made a significant offer to the Russians and anything other than negotiating further through the established channel is likely to complicate and hinder release efforts,” according to the official.

However, Rodman has never been one to shy away from developing relationships with international rulers, as displayed by his relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The former Lakers star has made multiple high-profile trips to the East Asian country in recent years, when U.S. relations were rocky at best.

According to him, he was responsible for the release of American Kenneth Bae, who was detained for over two and a half years in North Korea for unknown reasons, reports Newsweek.

In 2014, Rodman visited Moscow and called Putin “cool” in an interview.

The U.S. State Department, on the other hand, has currently imposed a travel advisory for any Americans traveling to the country.

“Do not travel to Russia,” read the announcement, listing the Ukraine invasion; and due to “potential for harassment against US citizens” and “the singling out of US citizens in Russia by Russian government security officials including for detention.”

The plan to negotiate for the freedom of the Phoenix Mercury player follows her lawyer’s announcement to file a sentence appeal last week.

Evidence Reveals Nurse Nicole Linton’s Mental Health Plummeted Prior to Fiery LA Crash That Killed 6

Evidence Reveals Nurse Nicole Linton’s Mental Health Plummeted Prior to Fiery LA Crash That Killed 6

On Monday, prosecutors revealed that the registered nurse at the wheel of the fiery car wreck in Windsor Hills of West Los Angeles was struggling with deteriorating mental health issues, would self-harm, and had a history of being involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment on several occasions. The evidence came to light upon the prosecutors’ aim to deny her pretrial release, reports the Los Angeles Times.

On Aug. 8, Nicole Lorraine Linton was charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for being repsonsible for the Aug. 4 crash that claimed the lives of an entire young family and two others.

Per court documents, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Brittany Vannoy wrote, “The defense has disclosed a number of prior incidents which appear to be increasing in severity, ranging from the defendant jumping on police cars to jumping out of apartment windows. The defense indicates [Linton] has been subject to involuntary commitments on several occasions and has hurt herself more than once.”

While seeking for the driver to be held without bail, Vannoy asserted that Linton’s “extremely reckless conduct combined with her mental health struggles” would be considered a menace to the public.

It has been reported that Linton already had at least 13 previous crashes, to which her defense vehemently denies.

“It’s been reported extensively and it’s not true,” said Linton’s attorney Halim Dhanidina. “Our initial investigation has demonstrated that that allegation that’s been bandied about in the media is patently false,” the lawyer maintained.

Currently, Linton is in custody at the Century Regional Detention Center without bail. The registered nurse was scheduled to appear before a bail hearing on Aug. 15, however, her representation requested a two-week postponement.

“All things considered, she’s trying to keep her chin up and is anxiously awaiting further resolution in court,” Dhanidina revealed, per the outlet.

Linton is facing 90 years to life in prison if convicted on all charges.

Her next court date is set for Aug. 31.

Louisiana Woman Denied Abortion Despite Fetus Diagnosed With Fatal Missing Skull Condition

Louisiana Woman Denied Abortion Despite Fetus Diagnosed With Fatal Missing Skull Condition

A woman in Lousiana has been denied an abortion in spite of her fetus having been diagnosed with acrania, a condition in which a fetus did not develop the top of its skull, and kills the baby almost instantly after birth.

Baton Rouge native, 36-year-old Nancy Davis, has been faced with the impossible decision to carry her baby to term only for it to die after being born or travel several hundred miles to a state where she can safely secure an aboriton. Louisiana has “trigger” laws that outlaw nearly all abortions, except in cases of risk of death for the person with child, per Axios.

“It’s hard knowing that… you know I’m carrying it to bury it,” said Davis, who is currently 13 weeks pregnant.

She has invoked the help of notable civil rights attorney Ben Crump to weigh her options after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to aboriton on June 24, undoing almost 50 years of federal protections under Roe v. Wade.

According to a statement from Crump’s office: “Regardless of what Louisiana lawmakers claim, the law is having its intended effect, causing doctors to refuse to perform abortions even when they are medically necessary out of fear of losing their medical licenses or facing criminal charges,” wrote the attorney. “It’s clear the State of Louisiana is inflicting profound emotional and physical trauma on Ms. Davis and women like her with this harshly restrictive and confusing law.”

Because Davis’s fetus has a heartbeat, she was refused after being told during her 10-week ultrasound that her fetus did not have the top of its skull. Due to the ill-considered aboriton ban not recognizing acrania as an exception, the medical center Davis visited, Women’s Hospital in East Baton Rouge Parish, pointed her to an abortion clinic. However, Louisiana is planning with doing away with abortion clinics altogether due to state legal battles.

To add insult to injury, the clinic let Davis know that her Medicaid insurance would not cover the abortion, which she revealed to be $5,000.

As of now, she has started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds to travel to North Carolina for the procedure.

“I just want them to consider special circumstances as it relates to abortion… medical problems, like this is one that needs to be in that,” said Davis.

Trailblazing Morehouse Alum Appointed Youngest Public Schools Principal in Atlanta

A 2014 graduate of Morehouse College has been named the youngest principal in Atlanta Public Schools history, having graduated from the system himself 12 years ago.

Willis A. Sutton Middle School’s newest principal, Dr. Dominique Merriweather, not only is the youngest at 30 years old, but the first Black leader of the Buckhead middle school, reports FOX 5 Atlanta

The school district announced their pick on July 29 after being impressed with his resume as a special education teacher for nine years following his education.

Despite him setting his sights on becoming a corporate attorney, he says the inner city kids he mentored during his time in special education are ultimately what changed his life.

“One day, I went to go read to elementary school kids in the Atlanta University Center area and I fell in love with the students,” Dr. Merriweather said.

https://twitter.com/MerriweatherEDU/status/1559321657533235202?s=20&t=XVLVSCCQiehQebV5a3i2gw

According to the staff at the school, they thrive off the young principal’s energy and his receptiveness to their advice.

“When you put your head in it, and never stop learning, and always are open to feedback and being better, the opportunities are there,” he explained.

Students at the school seem pleased with their newest leader, some referring to him as “nice and fair,” and “always there for you,” per the outlet.

The Fulton County native is ecstatic to be there, hoping to make a positive difference in the 1,500 students’ lives by valuing and listening to what they have to say.

In his welcome letter to the Sutton community, Dr. Merriweather expressed the importance of education, and his commitment to continue with the legacy of the school.

“With education serving as an instrument to change the world, it is my goal to deliver the promise of that change directly into the hands and minds of the Willis A. Sutton Middle School student body,” he wrote.

If there’s something he’s learned throughout his successful career is that no dream is unattainable at any age; if one is determined, anything is possible.

“Age does not equate to ability or capacity. If you are driven and open to learning and if you truly want to be the best at what you are doing, it can happen,” the 30-year-old principal shared.

R&B Artist Tevin Campbell Talks Personal Life, Jokes He Falls ‘In Love With Somebody Different Every Day’

R&B Artist Tevin Campbell Talks Personal Life, Jokes He Falls ‘In Love With Somebody Different Every Day’

R&B star Tevin Campbell recently opened up in an interview and confirmed to the world that he identifies as a gay man.

In an interview with the PEOPLE Every Day podcast, the 45-year-old singer touched on his journey to stardom, the music industry, and happiness of his personal life.

https://twitter.com/ckimberlinjr/status/1560314649157029889?s=20&t=4zxmQ651P92GdNysF3sTeg

“What makes me happiest right now is how far I’ve come in life,” he said. “You know, there are a lot of child stars that don’t make it. But a lot of us do…  and the fact that I’ve embraced me.”

Campbell revealed that he’s single and happy with the current place he is in his private life, music being what has carried him throughout his life.

“I’m in love with a lot of people,” he joked. “I fall in love with somebody different every day.”

However, “I’m not dating,” he clarified. “I’m sort of trying to get myself together. I’m working on another album. I know it’s been a long time, but you know. I just want to do new music.”

He goes on to reveal that dating and his trust issues don’t mix well together.

“I don’t trust people very well,” he explained. “All child stars have trust issues. I would love to talk to Drew Barrymore one day. I love her and she’s a child star. She’s been through it. I heard her talk about her trust issues and she just started dating.”

Nevertheless, he’s come to most embrace the relationship he’s in with himself, telling fans that all they need in this life is to love themselves.

“If you’re 45 and still beating yourself up for your faults, that’s not a good thing,” he says. “Love yourself. Love all of you, the bad and the good.”

As for the R&B scene today, Campbell admits it’s not as passionate as it used to be back in the day, praising artists like Jazmine Sullivan and Frank Ocean for their contributions to the genre.

“I think they’re setting the bar,” he said of them, “because there’s a lot of trash out there. But I don’t think it’s dead at all.”

The former gospel singer rose to the limelight in the 90s, after smash singles Can We Talk and I’m Ready, following up with his breakout album in 1991, T.E.V.I.N. His last release came in 1999, with a self-titled album Tevin Campbell.

Venice Salon Owner Perhaps Last To See Actress Anne Heche Alive Blamed for Her Death

Venice Salon Owner Perhaps Last To See Actress Anne Heche Alive Blamed for Her Death

Glass Hair Design salon owner Richard Glass is riddled with guilt after likely being the last person to see actress Anne Heche alive, and not doing more to save her.

The 53-year-old actress crashed into a Los Angeles home on Aug. 5 shortly after visiting Glass’ salon, and was pronounced legally dead Aug. 12 due to no oxygen being able to make its way to her brain, reports Newsweek.

Social media users collectively blamed the Venice Beach salon owner, prompting him to post a video addressing claims that he may have been the one responsible for supplying Heche drugs that led to her death.

Per a toxicology report, cocaine and fentanyl were found in Heche’s system.

“There are people who are nice and there are people who are just evil,” Glass said as tears streaked down his face. “Making accusations that I had something to do with what her toxicology report said.”

He continued, “It’s just a lot. They’re saying she could have got the cocaine or the fentanyl from me because I was the last person to see her. I’ve never done any type of drugs, I don’t do that, I’m not that type of person. It’s been really, really [tiring] and taxing.”

Right before the crash, Glass posted a selfie with the Six Days Seven Nights actress on his Instagram after she purchased a wig from him, which may have fueled the harassment. He captioned it, “So I met @anneheche today and she purchased a #redwig so random..”

He expressed his regret and was visibly guilt-stricken while apologizing for not protecting her and not doing all in his power to have saved her.

“I just feel a huge remorse I feel like I could’ve done something more. I feel like the universe sent her here for me to impact some kind of way and I just feel like I didn’t do everything I was supposed to, like to keep her here to protect her,” he said. “I’m extremely emotional about it and it’s wearing on my heart, this woman, she needed help and I wasn’t there enough.”

Doorbell surveillance footage in the residential area captured Heche’s Mini Cooper speed by, where she would soon crash into a car, a garage, and a house, where a fire broke out that gravely burned her.

She was then transported to the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital where she fell into a coma that ultimately resulted in her death.
