A new year has arrived, and with it comes the laundry list of resolutions. They consist of a mix of weight loss goals, financial freedom pledges and greater personal and professional growth, but what are you looking to do about your tech practices? With technology constantly changing, there’s always room for improvement in that department. The Root‘s tech-life expert Stephanie Humphrey provides 3 tips to making sure you start 2013 off the right way–tech savvy and all:

Reset Your Passwords

Once someone has accessed your account via your password, your personal information has been comprised. “If you haven’t done it in the past three to six months, it’s time to change all of those passwords you use online,” advises Humphrey. “I know it’s a huge pain in the you-know-what, but it is critical to the security of your personal information.”
