The National Minority Angel Network (NMAN) is kicking off a fall 2013 multi-city tour of its Formation to Funding Financial Literacy series designed to help entrepreneurs tap angel investors and venture capitalists. The program also focuses on three workshop topics: Due Diligence, Pitching to Investors, and Capital Formation.
The tour is scheduled to stop in five cities. Coming up is Washington, DC, September 19, followed by New York City, September 26; Charlotte, October 2; Atlanta, October 17; and, Silicon Valley, November 14. Participating sponsors and supporters include Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, and the law offices of Womble Carlyle.
The goal of the Tour is to increase literacy for all entrepreneurs seeking to start, grow, or accelerate their business with some of the country’s leading investors, entrepreneurs, and service providers. “In traveling throughout the US it is apparent we must connect the dots on all that is happening,” says Founder and Managing Partner, Timothy Reese. “This national program is intended to create long lasting NMAN programs in each city we are in and hopefully find investment ready companies along the way.”
NMAN, founded in 2012, is a member based angel investor network that was created to source diverse and otherwise unseen deal flow from primarily minority, woman, and entrepreneurs and link them with investors and corporations who seek to invest in them or utilize their product or services. Investors include banks, funds, advisors, family offices, and high net worth individuals. NMAN supplies deal flow from within its network. Entrepreneurs can upload deals on NMAN’s portal on GUST. The deals are reviewed by a sponsoring member and NMAN investment committee.
