Apple Computers co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died yesterday, October 5, 2011, after a long fought battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer (pancreatic neuroendocrine). The news broke late last night, just a day after Apple made announcements about upcoming software upgrades and product releases. This was the first major press conference since Jobs stepped down as CEO and Tim Cook took the reigns of the technology company.
Over the course of his career, Jobs proved time and time again to be an innovator, responsible for changing the way the world interacted with technology, listened to music and used a lowercase “i.” Under his helm, Apple became a world leader in technological advancements and introduced us to iTunes, the iPod, the iPhone and iPad, among numerous other game-changing products. For his entrepreneurial spirit, vision and overall contributions to our everyday lives, Jobs will be missed but his legacy will live on for generations to come.
