Racist Term Used to Describe Black Italian Football Star

In another case of racism in Italy the VP of Italian based team AC Milan, a professional football club, was recently criticized for racist terms he used to describe their recent acquisition Mario Balotelli.

The VP, Paolo Berlusconi, is the brother of the owner of the team. He was heard in a video clip using a derogatory term for Balotelli who is of African descent.

Reportedly, he said, “Now, let’s go see the family’s little black boy, the hot head.” Many have associated the purchase of Balotelli as a political ploy to get more votes in the national election, although the older Berlusconi denied it.
