According to reports, actor-mogul Nick Cannon has the Web in an uproar over a very expensive fashion choice. He sported $2 million, diamond-encrusted shoes designed by Tom Ford for the finale of “America’s Got Talent.”

The loafer has 14,000 diamonds and was created by California jeweler Jason Arasheben, founder and owner of Jason of Beverly Hills.

“Not very often do I get a request for the most expensive shoes in the world,” Arasheben toldWWD. “When Nick approached me last year, he said he wanted to make history and be so over-the-top. He wanted to set a new standard in diamonds. ‘How can we make the most expensive pair of shoes in the world and make this finale special?’ he asked me.”

Some critics thought the fashion statement to be too extravagant:

Does anyone else agree that it’s insane that @NickCannon‘s shoes are worth twice as much as the prize the finalists can win on @nbcagt

Nick Cannon- Wasteful

With all the starving and homeless people in the world, only a huge douchebag would wear $2 million shoes…

Some laud the actor, citing his choice as one he has the right to make:

Yes they would have “@Dunnkenhines: Now if MJ would’ve worn those shoes nobody would’ve said nothin’ #NickCannon keep em talking lol” – Jennis The Menace ♉ (@SlimShady587) September 19, 2014

@Yo_ItsMONROE: Nick Cannon had on some 2 million dollar shoes! 😩😩 they were so beautiful though 😍 then he donated them to charity!”

Start making cash right now… Get more time with your family by doing jobs that only require for you to have a computer and an internet access and you can have that at your home. Start bringing up to $8012 a month. I’ve started this job and I’ve never been happier and now I am sharing it with you, so you can try it too. You can check it out here……………..

      • Tammy Dutch

You’re an idiot! What does this have to do with the article? I wouldn’t, in a million years, check it out just because you post this trash in the most innapropriate places….

  • breanna

Who cares he can do what he wants its his money, he does his part n charities n life it hasnt effected his kids being cares for so y ppl care so much. Stay in your lane ppl

  • Geoyce Chatman

Why didn’t he just donate the money to charity in the first place? This kind of extravagance on the part of the 1% is akin to Marie Antoinette misquoted statement, “Let them eat cake!” She was later beheaded. I think Mr. Cannon jumped the shark on this wildly over-extravagant gesture.

    • ShaFeelinmii

Won’t u donate ur whole check then since ur so giving

    • Tammy Dutch

So not only is everyone complaining about him spending HIS hard earned money, but even though he IS donating them to charity, you are complaining about HOW he donates it. This just goes to show that it doesn’t matter if he tries to do good or not, someone is ALWAYS going to find something wrong. It is not about him spending money, it is about folks having something to complain about.

    • ackeegrl

Maybe it will be worth more because a celebrity wore it. Some people pay more in auctions for that.

I can feel what you’re feeling right now

  • The Man

    Who cares… it’s his money.

  • QueenBee

I thought that’s what Nick would do; donate the shoes to charity. That sounds more like it. In my opinion wasteful but a donation is a donation in any form. Those shoes may do a lot of people some good.

  • Onesmus Hamupolo

I don’t care who you are, how hard you’ve worked, how many charities you have or how crazy you are….. No one on the planet earth can buy a $2 million pair of shoes in the state the world is in right now!

    • ackeegrl

No one? He did it. The state of the world only affects some people…not all……

  • Nicholas Johnson

Could give that Money to A Charity or somthing

    • ackeegrl

      lol….he did…….

  • the great master

Looks like he stole his daddy’s 2 million dollar shoes.
