McCarthy was scheduled to be put to death at 6 p.m. tonight, but a judge put a stop to the execution delaying it until April.

McCarthy was sentenced to death after being found guilty of killing her next door neighbor, a 71-year-old woman in her home by stabbing her. She was also thought to be responsible for the murder of two other elderly women.
