Alpha Media of Portland, Oregon, announced they have closed the purchase of Access 1 Communications stations. The radio stations purchased include five stations located in Shreveport, Louisiana; KBTT(FM), KOKA(AM), KDKS(FM), KLKL(FM), KTAL(FM) and four radio stations in Tyler-Longview, Texas; KKUS(FM), KOOI(FM), KOYE(FM) and KYKX(FM).

With the purchase, Alpha Media now owns 96 stations. “Chesley Maddox-Dorsey is a great person with superb integrity and it’s a tremendous honor for us to be buying stations from Access 1,” said Larry Wilson, chairman of Alpha Media. “The quality of people I’ve met and their passion for the industry is impressive; it fits right in our sweet spot for live and local radio.”
Maddox-Dorsey has served as CEO of Access 1, a company that had 21 radio stations in New York, Texas, and Louisiana under its umbrella, as well as an NBC-affiliated TV station in New Jersey. It also owns SupeRadio Networks and co-owns American Urban Radio Networks (AURN).
SupeRadio Networks is a producer and distributor of radio programs in a variety of formats, including Urban, Urban Adult, Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic, Talk, Country, Hot AC, Rock, Dance, Alternative, Gospel and Oldies.
In 1988, SupeRadio experienced its first success with John Garabedian’s Open House Party, which is syndicated live via satellite to 150 mostly CHR radio stations. Today, the company boasts more than 2500 different radio stations airing its programming.
Some of its high-profile personalities have included Doug Stephan, host of Good Day USA, Wendy Williams, Ed Schultz, Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine.

George Reed of Media Services Group was the broker for Access 1 Communications, according to a news release.
