Bethesda, Maryland tops CNNMoney’s Top-Earning Towns list. Upon taking a closer look at the city’s residents, you will notice it has a black population of 3.3%. That might not sound odd until you notice that Bethesda is located in Montgomery County, which shares municipal services with Prince George’s County.

According to the 2011 Census, Prince George’s County has a black population of 64% and is the wealthiest majority African-American county.

On the other hand, or should I say on the other side of the street, Montgomery County has a black population of only 17%.

Here is a closer look at the top 5 earning towns:

Rank      Town                                     Black Population

No. 1     Bethesda, MD                          3.31%

No. 2     Greenwich, CT                        2.15%

No. 3     Palo  Alto, CA                          1.86%

No. 4     Newport Beach, CA                 0.72%

What do you expect. Our culture tends to promote the THUG life over education, sound financial investment, and entrepreneurship. Inturn creating a culture of perpetual poverty.

It’s nobody’s fault but our own.

I’m a college educated black woman who has lived mostly in primarily black cities such as Memphis and Atlanta. However, I’ve been living in Dallas, TX (which is suppose to have a sizable black population) and I barely see blacks. Dallas is very segregated and those well to do blacks who decide to live in the nicer areas are isolated and alone

There are a handful of blacks where I live but they don’t speak, keep to themselves and they don’t seem to have any life at all. Life here is expected to be boring. My white friends have been the ones to invite me to church and out. The blacks here don’t do that. They are very insulated. How can we be strong when we don’t trust one another?

And the sad thing is that here there is a LOT of racism. Yet the white folks are arrogant and cocky in their racism because the blacks here have no self pride. At all.
