Q: I tend to procrastinate when it comes time to start working on a goal that I’ve set for myself. How do I stop?

A: You stop procrastinating, in effect, by starting to get busy. It’s a mind-set change that you have to put into practice immediately for it to work. But first it might serve you well to determine the cause of your hesitation.
Perhaps it’s the nature of the goal itself. Is it something you really want to do? If so, why? If not, why are you bothering with it? To impress or please someone else? These are essential questions you must ask yourself. The answers may hold the key to your why you’re delaying its implementation.
Or, maybe the goal is too large, and you feel overwhelmed by its magnitude. If that is the case, don’t be afraid to break it down into smaller “subgoals,” if you will. The more digestible the goal, the more likely you will feel like you can tackle it sooner rather than later.
