The National Portrait Gallery (Eighth and F Sts. NW, Washington, D.C.; 202-357-2700) is exhibiting lithographs of famed French poster artist Paul Colin, including portraits of Josephine Baker, in “Le Tumulte Noir: Paul Colin’s Jazz Age Portfolio.” The exhibit, on view through September 14, will be complemented by recordings of Baker and other musicians of the day… “A House Divided: America in the Age of Lincoln” at The Chicago Historical Society (Clark Street at North Ave.) includes 600- plus artifacts, including letters from Frederick Douglass and photos of Black Civil War soldiers.
