I am 34 years old and have two years before I obtain my bachelor’s degree in health administration. What job opportunities are available with a bachelor’s degree only?
The research I have done reveals a preference for a master’s degree with experience. I do plan on obtaining my master’s degree, but on a part — time basis.

You’ve chosen a strong field. Healthcare services have increased 30% in the last 10 years and are expected to grow 18% to 26% by 2014. Median salaries for managers were $67,000 in 2004. Those at the senior executive and C — Suite levels can expect six — figure salaries sometimes exceeding $200,000.
You will need a master’s degree if you expect to advance your career, particularly if you’re interested in heading a department or facility and/or specializing in a particular area of health management.
There are opportunities for those with just a bachelor’s. According to the American College of Healthcare Executives (www.healthmanage mentcareers.org), an international professional organization, most are entry — level positions, but you may find some senior — level jobs at smaller organizations or middle management jobs in larger companies.
