On Huffington Post’s TV blog, NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabar writes that Golden Globe-winning HBO show “Girls” is far from the feminist vehicle the show’s creator Lena Dunham purports it to be, pointing out that the show’s most dedicated viewers are white men over 50.

The review, called Girls Just Want to Have (White) Fun, also takes the show to task for its overwhelming whiteness saying: “This season the white ghetto was breached by a black character who is introduced as some jungle fever lover, with just enough screen time to have sex and mutter a couple of lines about wanting more of a relationship. A black dildo would have sufficed and cost less.”

He also calls the female characters boring, shallow and “too cutesy.”
