Excellent tips here. Thankfully I started freelancing while I still had a full-time job because I no longer have that job. You are so right about networking being critical. I hadn’t thought about getting paid upfront, but that’s about to be my new rule. Thanks!

Wonderful tips! If you’re transitioning from a very structured corporate role to working for yourself and doing it all, it can be a significant adjustment. As someone who is enjoying the life of solopreneurship, I encourage you to seek help in the areas you’re not good at. Look at bartering arrangements if you can’t afford to pay for all of the services you need. Delegate where you can so you can focus on the activities that bring money in the door!
